Our Raf Simons week continues with the latest issue of Berlin based culture magazine 032c. Stylist Olivier Rizzo teamed up with Raf Simons’ campaign photographer Willy Vanderperre for a 2014 fall/winter editorial. The emphasis lies on oversized fits for an exaggerated silhouette.
Today is 47th birthday of Belgian fashion designer Raf Simons. As we look back on his 20 years of brand development – where he reshaped the landscape of menswear – his minimalist years at Jil Sander and his ongoing work at Dior we are digging deeper into his archives to find rather hidden parts of his work which defined contemporary aesthetics. Today marks the beginning of our Raf Simons week.
Monday – we are showcasing 2 pieces of his “History of my World” AW05 collection and one of the rarest pieces – a parachute jacket from his “Consumed” SS03 collection which is largely heralded as one of Raf’s best, as well as one of the most influential in terms of what we accept as fashion’s current mix between street wear and high-fashion. We also show you where to find those rare pieces on eBay.
As we dug into Raf’s archives we found three interesting pieces, which shaped contemporary aesthetics. A parachute jacket from his very influential SS03 “CONSUMED” collection as well as two Poltergeist themed pieces from his AW05 “History of my World” collection.
Céline picked prolific writer Joan Didion along with french ballet dancer Marie-Agnès Gillot and Freya Lawrence for their spring/summer 2015 campaign. It looks like the couture house is taking a new route after having Daria Werbowy as the face for a couple of seasons. As in the previous years Juergen Teller shot the whole campaign.
