For the upcoming Spring/Summer 2014 season, Liz continues her experimentation with form and structure to distort the visual and the physical to create a sensation of depth, texture and movement. Her abstract signature prints go hand in hand with a bold colour palette ranging from a wide spectrum of blues, yellows, greens and greys. Her collection, entitled “Perceive/Deceive”, drew inspiration from Venezuelan Kinetic and Optical Artist Jesus Rafael Soto.
But is it a wearable collection? Partially. Her work on the black – white – grey pieces was fantastic, but the bold coloured pieces with complicated structures step far away from the minimalist and elegant aesthetic for which Liz is known. But yet again, she isn’t someone who has already found her exact spot in the industry and we love it when a young designer steps out of his comfort zone to experiment a little.
