PYREX VISION. The SS 2013 collection of Virgil Abloh, the mastermind creative director behind Kanye West, has just launched at RSVP Gallery. The clothes are inspired by Virgil’s highschool time and are “sorted” in different teams. Yellow, White, Blue, Red and Black team. I really like this line, remembers me of Les Plus Dores, but Iam pretty sure that their main inspiration came from Virgil’s first Pyrex Tees. I loved them very much, cool print on the front, Pyrex print on the back, very decent. However the main motive of the new line is a religious print. Is Virgil trying to go after Givenchy? They recently launched their christian inspired Madonna collection. Anyway. I admire Virgil Abloh very much, he’s one of the biggest style geniuses of our time and always one step ahead, no doubt. To be honest I think Kanye owes much of his style success to Virgil, he has been the great mind behind Kanye’s amazing appearance. Go buy the Pyrex collection, it’s great, and you can support a new designer who definitely deserves to be supported. I for myself will not get anything from the PYREX collection, not because i don’t like it, but because the prices are crazily ridiculous. 150$ for a basic T-Shirt ? 550 for a shirt with PYREX 23 on the back? Sorry Virgil but i can buy Raf Simons or Rick Owens for these prices.  It’s just not for me, i love PYREX and i won’t “rather” buy Givenchy or Marcelo Burlon Tees, even though they are better in quality and cut, because i still think 60$+ for a T-shirt is to much. I can understand if Givenchy makes a Silk Tee for top dollars, it’s their thing. But a normal T-shirt for over 100$ ? That’s just sad. Whoever has enough money to do so, buy his stuff, maybe it keeps him going. But i won’t, it’s simply too much, PYREX is a fucking amazing Streetwear brand, or at least it could be, if it was cheaper. Take a look at Supreme, they aren’t overpricing things either even though it is limited like hell. Sorry for the money bitchin, it shouldn’t be a factor but sadly it is. I would love the get my hands on one of the old PYREX Tees, with the V on the front, just a dope shirt. All in all, i love what Virgil is doing, it is something new, something most of the people wouldn’t have considered “cool” in the  past, but something that is so “cool” now. Virgil, one of your biggest fans, keep it going and good luck with the brand.
